1.Who we are
This policy explains what the TaskQuest mobile app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Android app lv.orange4it.taskquest and nothing else.
2.The short version
TaskQuest is a family app. A parent creates an account, adds a child's profile and assigns chores; the child completes them and earns points or pocket money.
Children do not create accounts and never give us an email address. A parent creates the child's profile, and the child's device is connected using a one-time code.
We show no advertising. The app contains no ad network and no analytics SDK.
We do not sell your data and never share it for marketing.
Everything we store exists so the app can work.
3.What we collect
3.1.Parent account
Data
Why
Email address
Signing in, password reset
Google account identifier and email, if you sign in with Google
Signing in
Account creation time
Running the account
We never see or store your password. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
3.2.Child account
Data
Why
Child's first name
So parent and child can tell profiles apart
Date of birth (optional)
Matching chores to the child's age
Points, coins and unpaid pocket money
Running the app
Achievements and completion streak
Running the app
Chosen language and visual style
So the app looks the way the child chose
he date of birth is optional. A parent can change it or remove it at any time.
3.3.Chores and completions
The title, description, type, schedule and reward of each chore; and for each completion its status, date, and the reason it was approved or rejected.
3.4.Photos
If a parent turns on photo verification for a chore, the child takes a picture with the device camera and it is uploaded. The parent sees the picture, and it is also used for automatic checking (see section 5).
The camera is used only at the moment the child opens it for a specific chore or scans the joining QR code. It never runs in the background.
3.5.Device data
Data
Why
Notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
To send a notification about an approval or a deadline
Device language
So notifications arrive in the right language
Device integrity check (Google Play Integrity)
Running the app
We do not collect or transmit the Android Advertising ID, IMEI, or any other persistent device identifier.
3.6.What never leaves the device
The chosen role, language, visual style and the linked profile identifier are kept on the device itself and are not sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes them.
4.Our legal basis
Parent's data — performance of the agreement you enter into by using the app.
Child's data — the parent's consent. The parent creates the profile, decides whether photo verification is on, and can edit or delete the profile at any time.
Security measures (device integrity, expiring join codes) — our legitimate interest in keeping families' data away from strangers.
5.How we use AI
TaskQuest uses Google's Gemini model for two things. Both are worth describing precisely.
a) A short status summary on the home screen. The model receives: the child's first name, chore titles, how many there are, their dates, and the completion streak. It does not receive photos, email addresses or dates of birth.
b) Photo verification. If the parent has enabled automatic checking for a chore, the model receives the photo the child took, together with the chore's title and description, and answers whether the chore looks done.
Four things matter here:
1.Photo verification is optional. If a parent never enables it, no photo is ever sent to Google.
2.Automatic approval happens only when every condition of the chore is both visible in the photo and met. If the model is unsure, or something cannot be seen in the frame, the completion is handed to the parent instead.
3.The parent always has the final word and can reject a completion even after it was approved automatically.
4.We use Google's paid Gemini API. Under those terms Google does not use the prompts or the responses to improve its products or train its models. Content may be logged for a limited period so Google can detect abuse of the service.
6.Who else processes the data
We do not sell data and we share nothing with advertisers. We use Google services as our processors:

Parent sign-in
Cloud Firestore
Profiles, chores, completions
Firebase Storage

Firebase Cloud Messaging

Firebase App Check / Play Integrity

As described in section 5
Our database and server functions run in the European Union (Google region europe-west1, Belgium).
7.How long we keep it
We keep data for as long as the parent's account exists.
A child's profile can be deleted on its own at any time, in the app's wallet section. Deleting it also removes that child's chores and joining code.
The whole account can be deleted in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes every child profile, all chores, completions, logs and photos, and the account itself.
Deletion is carried out on our server, in one pass, so nothing is left behind half-removed.
8.Your rights
You may ask for access to your data and your child's, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, and receive it in a portable format.
Most of this you can do yourself in the app: edit or delete a child's profile in the wallet section, delete the whole account in Settings.
For anything else, write to info@orange4it.lv. We will answer within one month.
If you believe we handle data incorrectly, you can complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (www.dvi.gov.lv) or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
9.Security
A child's device cannot approve a chore or award itself a reward. Only the server can do that.
Server-side rules restrict access: a child's device sees only its own family's data and may change only a few specific fields.
A joining code is valid for 15 minutes and cannot be reused once claimed.
Requests are accepted only from a genuine copy of the app (Google Play Integrity).
10.Children
The app is made for families. There is no chat, no content from strangers, no links to outside websites and nothing to buy. Every chore and every reward is created by the child's own parent.
A child cannot use TaskQuest alone: without a parent's account there is no profile.
11.Changes
If we change this policy, the new version appears at this address and the date at the top changes with it. We will announce significant changes in the app.
Data deletion request
You can delete your data and your child's in two ways.
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Everything goes at once and permanently: child profiles, chores, completions, logs, photos and the account itself. A single child's profile can be deleted on its own in the wallet section.
By email: write to info@orange4it.lv from the address you registered with and say that you want your TaskQuest account deleted. We will complete it within one month.
Deletion leaves no partial copies: the account and everything belonging to it are removed together.
